Refund policy

1. Return period

You have 14 days from receipt of your order to send the item back to us. The period begins on the day you receive the package.

The date of the postmark or shipment of your return parcel is what counts for meeting this deadline — not the date we receive it. Please keep your shipping receipt safe.

Returns shipped after this 14-day period cannot be accepted.

2. Conditions for a return

For us to accept and refund your return, the item must meet the following conditions:

  • the item is unworn
  • the original jewellery box is included
  • the item shows no signs of wear
  • the item has had no contact with water, perfume, creams, chemicals, or other substances that may damage or discolour the material

Care cards and tags do not need to be returned.

3. Items excluded from the return policy

For hygiene, legal, and product-specific reasons, the following items are fully excluded from the return policy:

  • Earrings and piercing jewellery (bodychains with piercing elements, nose rings, etc.) once they have been worn — for hygiene reasons
  • Personalised items, including engravings and custom orders
  • Sale and discounted items

4. Return process

Before sending an item back to us, please contact us in advance via our contact form on teardropjewellery.com.

Please include the following information in your request:

  • your order number
  • the item you wish to return
  • the reason for the return

Once we receive your request, we will confirm the return and inform you of the next steps.

Please do not send any packages back without prior notification — otherwise we cannot guarantee processing.

5. Return shipping costs

The costs and risk of return shipping are borne by the customer. We do not provide a return label.

Please send your package independently via Swiss Post to the following address:

We recommend choosing a shipment with a tracking number and keeping the receipt — in case of loss during return shipping, the risk lies with the sender.

6. Incorrect or defective delivery from our side

If you have received an incorrect item (e.g. wrong model, wrong size) or the item has a manufacturing defect or fault, please contact us within 7 days of receipt via our contact form.

Please send us:

  • your order number
  • a brief description of the error or defect
  • photos showing the issue

In this case:

  • we cover the return shipping costs and provide you with a solution (shipping label or reimbursement of postage upon receipt)
  • you will receive — at your choice — either a replacement delivery or a full refund of the purchase amount including the original shipping costs

7. Refund

Once your return arrives with us, we will inspect the item. If all conditions are met, we will refund the purchase amount within 7 to 14 business days to the original payment method.

Refunds are always issued to the original buyer via the payment method used for the original order — regardless of who returns the item (e.g. in the case of gift orders).

The original shipping costs of CHF 7.90 are not refunded on returns. Exceptions apply for cases under Section 6 (incorrect or defective delivery from our side) — in those cases, shipping costs are fully refunded.

Upon customer request, we can alternatively issue the refund as a credit / voucher code. Please indicate this when registering your return.

8. Partial returns

For a partial return (return of individual items from an order containing multiple items), we will refund the purchase amount of the returned items.

If a partial return causes the original order value to retroactively fall below the threshold for free shipping (CHF 100.–), the previously granted free shipping costs will not be retroactively charged or deducted from the refund amount.

9. Damaged or used returns

If the returned item shows signs of wear, damage, or a loss of value, we reserve the right to decide on a case-by-case basis whether:

  • a partial refund is granted
  • the refund is denied
  • the item is returned to the customer at the customer's expense

We will communicate our decision in writing via the contact form or by email.

10. Exchange

We offer an exchange within the same product line in a different size (e.g. a ring in a different size).

How the exchange works:

  1. Contact us via our contact form and provide your order number and desired new size.
  2. You will receive a voucher code for free shipping from us.
  3. You order the identical item in the desired size through our shop — shipping is free with the code.
  4. You send the original order back to the address above (at your own expense).
  5. Once the return arrives, we issue the refund for the original purchase amount (excluding shipping costs).

Important: This free shipping code applies exclusively to the identical item in a different size. For exchanges to a different product or different model, regular shipping costs apply.

11. Loss during return shipping

We strongly recommend shipping your return package with a tracking number and keeping the shipping receipt. In the event a package is lost during return shipping, the customer bears the burden of proof that the shipment was sent.

12. Statutory warranty rights and right of withdrawal

This return policy regulates our voluntary goodwill arrangements and complements — where applicable — the statutory right of withdrawal under Swiss law.

Your statutory warranty rights under the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO) as well as your rights under the Federal Act against Unfair Competition (UCA) remain unaffected by this return policy.
