Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Teardrop Jewellery (operated by Natasha Boll, sole proprietorship — "Boll Group") uses cookies and similar technologies on teardropjewellery.com.
It supplements our Privacy Policy and applies in addition to all data processing described therein.
By using our website and accepting cookies via our cookie banner, you consent to the use of cookies as described below. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 9).
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, smartphone, tablet) when you visit a website. They help the website remember information about you — for example, your settings, your login status, or the contents of your shopping cart.
We also use similar technologies such as:
- Local Storage — data stored directly in your browser
- Pixels and tracking tags — invisible images for analytics and advertising
- Server-side identifiers — anonymous IDs to recognise returning visitors
For simplicity, we refer to all these technologies as "cookies" throughout this policy.
2.1 Cookie lifespans explained
In the tables below, you will find two types of cookies:
- Session cookies — automatically deleted when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a defined period (from a few minutes to several years), unless you delete them manually
The exact duration of each cookie can be found in the tables under Section 4.
3. Legal bases for the use of cookies
We use cookies on the following legal bases under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP):
| Cookie category | Legal basis |
|---|---|

| Personalisation cookies | Your consent (Art. 6 FADP) via the cookie banner |
| Marketing cookies | Your consent (Art. 6 FADP) via the cookie banner |
| Analytics cookies | Your consent (Art. 6 FADP) via the cookie banner |
You can withdraw your consent at any time without giving reasons (see Section 9).

5. What happens when you decline cookies?
We respect your choice. If you click "Decline" or only allow necessary cookies, the following applies:
✅ Continues to work without issue
- Browsing and viewing all products
- Adding items to the shopping cart and completing your order
- Logging in and managing your customer account
- Contact via the contact form
- Receiving order confirmations and shipping notifications
- Security and bot protection of the website
⚠️ Limited or unavailable
- Personalised recommendations based on your browsing behaviour
- Targeted advertising on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest
- Email marketing personalisation (you will still receive transactional emails such as order and shipping confirmations)
- Pop-ups and discount banners based on your behaviour
- Website analytics (we will not know how you used the site)
- Personalised language/region settings may not be saved across visits
You can change your settings at any time by clicking the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
6. Third-party cookies and international data transfer
Some cookies are set by third-party providers as soon as their services are loaded on our site. These providers may transfer data outside Switzerland — details can be found in our Privacy Policy, Section 10.
Main third-party data recipients:
- Shopify (EU/USA/Canada)
- Klaviyo (USA)
- Meta (EU/USA)
- TikTok (UK/EU)
- Google (EU/USA)
- Cloudflare (USA — used by Shopify for security)
- Pinterest (USA) when advertising tracking is activated
All data transfers to the USA take place on the basis of EU Standard Contractual Clauses and additional safeguards.
7. "Do Not Track" browser signals
Modern browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites visited. Currently, there is no uniform technical standard for how websites should respond to this signal.
For this reason, our website does not automatically respond to DNT signals. Instead, we rely on your explicit choice in the cookie banner — this gives you more detailed control (per category) than a DNT signal could.
If your browser is configured to block all third-party cookies, or if you use anti-tracking extensions (e.g. uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Brave Shields), our optional cookies will not be loaded — even if you click "Accept".
8. Managing your cookies
8.1 Via our cookie banner
You can manage your preferences at any time via our cookie banner:
- First visit: the banner appears automatically — choose "Accept", "Decline", or "Customise"
- Later changes: click the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of our website to reopen the banner
8.2 Via your browser
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View all stored cookies

Browser-specific instructions:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies

⚠️ Note: If you disable necessary cookies, basic functions such as cart, checkout, and login will no longer work.

You can opt out of personalised advertising directly with the providers:

- The Swiss Post app for tracking (separate privacy settings)
- Email tracking pixels in our newsletters (you can disable image loading in your email app)
- In-app browsers of mobile apps (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook in-app browsers may behave differently than your standard browser)

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future:
- Reopen the cookie settings via the link in the footer
- Or contact us via our contact form
After withdrawal:
- All optional cookies will be disabled
- Already set optional cookies will expire at their normal expiry date, or can be deleted via your browser
- No optional tools will be loaded on future visits unless you give consent again
10. Children and minors
Our online shop is not actively directed at persons under the age of 16. We do not knowingly process personal data of minors via cookies.
If we become aware that a person under 16 has transmitted data to us without parental consent, we will delete this data without delay. Parents and guardians can contact us via the contact form if they suspect that a minor has transmitted data to us.
11. Your rights
Regarding cookie data, you have the same rights as for all other personal data we process. These include:
- Right to information about the cookies and data used

- Existing providers introduce new cookies
- Swiss or international data protection laws change
The current version is always available at teardropjewellery.com/cookie-policy with the date of the latest update at the top.
